He was orphaned early in life when his mother died while giving birth to him. Then, his father left when he was only 5 years old.

He was taken in by the local brothel and lived there until his sixteenth birthday by doing odd jobs to earn his room and board.

It was about that time the Kidd killed his first man, for beating one of the gals at the saloon. The Kidd stood trial, but was found innocent and released.

That's when he decided to drift. He ended up in Lincoln County where he met William Bonne, alias Billy the Kid. Billy showed him how to shoot straight and fast and taught him to ride fast and hard!

But the Coyote Kidd got itchy feet before the Lincoln County wars and drifted across the border into old Mexico. He stayed around for a while but never got good at the language.

He crossed the border again, this time into Arizona where he traded with Apache Indians. He traded mostly guns and ammunition with them and was so good at sneaking in and out of Indian country undetected, that he earned his name, the Coyote Kidd.

The Kidd left Arizona in a hurry one day when, while drinking with a couple of Apache Indians, things got rough and the Kidd had to kill them.

He fled to California and tried his hand at odd jobs, but, not able to make ends meet, the Kidd started robbing banks for a living. Though dangerous, the Kidd seemed to enjoy the thrill and became very good at it!

He was last seen around Pioneertown, drinking at the Red Dog Saloon and eyeing the Pioneertown Bank!!
